It’s a World-Class Venue

Experienced rock bands tearing through epic tunes, four-piece jazz ensembles infusing rich soundscapes into the room or famous singers performing heartfelt ballads are just part of what make an outing to Red Rocks unforgettable – no other outdoor music venue in America comes close!

The park’s monolithic walls – especially Ship Rock (named for its shiplike shape) in the southern end and Creation Rock in the north – are well known to create exceptional acoustics that awe visitors, while providing artists and their fans an unforgettable experience.

Park’s high elevation and winds can affect sound levels in higher seats, so arriving early to explore your options. Also remember that blankets cannot extend past your seat.

It’s Unique

Red Rocks amphitheater has welcomed not only dinosaurs and ancient tribes, but settlers, industrial businessmen, government officials, architects, nonprofits, artists, musicians, families and fans for millennia. Sandstone formations that surround it were formed millions of years ago due to geologic forces and have since captured generations’ imaginations.

Concertgoers who gather before a show to enjoy tailgate food and beverages with friends will find that nature only adds to their camaraderie and create memories far beyond musical performances.

Red Rocks Concerts provide an unforgettable musical experience. From iconic acts such as the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix to modern icons like Mumford & Sons, each performer brings their best to this world-class venue, providing incredible acoustics and breathtaking views that inspire. Additionally, Red Rocks offers hiking the Trading Post Trail or participating in Yoga on the Rocks sessions that provide unforgettable adventures.

It’s Historic

Colorado residents should look forward to enjoying spring weather and an epic concert season at Red Rocks Amphitheatre this summer! To do so, they need only look forward to hosting backyard barbeques, brewery patio days and attending shows such as concerts like Ariana Grande.

Geological forces, Civilian Conservation Corps efforts and massive labor forces combined over many years to transform natural sandstone formations into an iconic music venue – home for performances by The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Diana Ross & the Supremes and many other performers such as U2, Neil Young and new-age piano player John Tesh – since its transformation.

Even that’s without even considering the one show that led to its temporary ban. The 1971 Jethro Tull show became a nightmare as fans without tickets attempted to rush the stage; an ensuing riot caused by this happened and resulted in its temporary ban, until cooler heads prevailed; now this amphitheater stands as a National Historic Landmark.

It’s a Must-See

Music’s most revered venue is a natural marvel. Over millions of years, geologic forces shaped its sandstone masterpiece – but only an afternoon is needed to explore. There’s even a museum telling its tale–including that its steps were constructed as part of an New Deal project by Civilian Conservation Corps workers!

Red Rocks really comes to life during summer concerts, with world-renowned artists from various genres performing here. Experience its magical acoustics first-hand by attending one. Even if it’s your first show ever, Red Rocks promises an unforgettable experience for visitors of any music taste – just remember to bring cold beverages (no booze allowed into venue) and snacks along. Also keep hydrated at an elevation of 6,500 feet for optimal viewing pleasure.
