Billy Joel and Rod Stewart to Appear Together at Cleveland Browns Stadium

Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame duo Billy Joel and Rod Stewart will join forces for their inaugural joint concert at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Sept. 13. The announcement was made Thursday during a news conference held there; Joel last performed here in 2017 while Stewart has previously performed solo at Blossom.

Both artists have distinguished careers, and this year both are set to release new music. Joel will release “Turn the Lights Back On,” while also hoping to debut a full-length album with his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra next month. Stewart’s first new release since 16 years will be Swing Fever due out February 23.

Cleveland will be one of only three cities on this tour; others being Tampa and San Diego in Florida and California respectively. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday morning (Feb 2) at 10 am local time with Citi presales beginning Monday Jan 29.

3News reached out to Live Nation, the company behind this concert promotion, for further details. Their senior VP of marketing and sponsorship sales explained there are multiple moving parts at work when bringing such an acclaimed artist such as this to town – such as his tour schedule lining up perfectly with venue capacity considerations and his other stops along the tour route.

Importantly, it’s essential that the venue be capable of selling tickets to your event. Cleveland Browns Stadium only accommodates 40,000 people so tickets will likely go quickly once released for public sale.

While it’s impossible to predict who will win the ticket-selling battle, we can be certain that both acts will draw large audiences and fill the house for this special night of music. And we hope both can deliver an unforgettable performance of classic songs for fans to enjoy!
